    I feel like a robot

    Pros

Great benefits. PTO. Holiday pay. 401K Contribution.

    Cons

Very hard to get a day off unless requested months beforehand. Impossible to get a holiday off even if you have PTO available. No sick days. Very controlling feeling under pressure under every single call. You pretty much have to be a robot without sounding like one. Asurion also says they don’t tolerate racism but if a customer acts racists forwards you, you will be fired for hanging up on them for using any sort of abusive language. They make so many claim procedures extremely difficult for customers and don’t give us the easy-fix solutions or tools to resolve issues, instead we have to calm the customer down. Asurion also has an annoying tendency to treat everyone like little kids to make the work environment more “fun”. Systems run slow but they expect us to work fast. CST deals with escalated callers but want us to finish fast when clearly you can’t calm an angry customer down in just 4-6 minutes. ITS UNPREDICTABLE !

    Pros

Great benefits and perks for working here.

    Cons

Management significantly older than the development team members and have a very dismissive attitude that we are just "kids" that don't really know what we want. During Covid they have repeatedly tried to rush us back into the office. In May 2020 they tried to return to office, only a couple months after the lockdown started. That kept this up for an entire year, and now, in Summer 2021 they have "decided" we will absolutely return to the office in the Fall. Even though every engineer worked MORE efficiently at home and kept the company not just afloat, but thriving. We are healthier, mentally and physically, working from home, but our concerns are dismissed completely, even mocked, by older management. Any attempt to bring this up is met with fluff about "embracing flexibility" and "figuring it out on the way", but nothing definitive. A presentation was recently sent out to employees that stated in bold "We are not expanding our remote work force" and then one of the higher up execs chimed in with "We don't even have any remote positions posted!" proudly. The micro management is heavy at Asurion, and work life balance, employee health, family life, financial status, covid safety are just not concerns of management.

    Asurion Response

    Talent Acquisition Operations Manager

Thanks for sharing this feedback with us. In March of 2020 we actively moved all our employees to remote work for the safety and security of all our employees and have not required anyone to return to a physical office yet. Our leadership team has worked tirelessly over the last 18 month ensuring that our employees are protected and supported in all ways, including how we are approaching our return-to-office guidelines for later this year. I would encourage you to reach out to your HR business partner to address these concerns directly so we can better understand your experience.
