Pros

Remote work, purposeful work. ie. Allows for people who have lower incomes such as they love their job but the salary is relatively low compared to other positions. To work in the careers they are passionate about. Supports people with health issues who are not able to work.

Cons

The housing policies need constant review to be relevant ie. speculation and high municipality taxes are key part of high housing prices, but not all relevant insights such as the above are included in policy. Additionally need to not want to fix people as some folks are not ready to live to their potential so let them be, and choose affordable housing, ie. I knew of an accountant CA who lived in afford. housing, but said he experienced bullying at work so quit, now unemployed due to trauma at work. I understand but is there a line between enabling and understanding, he needs counselling so he can heal and then move to living a productive life in which he doesn't need affordable housing, but at this time he does during his life transition. The current CEO Mr. Tong is very kind but I find he is enables people to not live to their potential. Lower benefits than private sector in BC Housing, but it is an important gov't agency.
