Pros

Birthday Benefits, Extended Health care, Good company culture

Cons

Wages, Hated when CEO used the "in line with market standards" as we lost good staff members for being too cheap. Hard to progress really unless you are first line support

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience working at BMC. We're glad to hear you enjoyed your time here! The wages piece is tricky - true, we need to pay competitive salaries, but we're not trying to complete with the Amazons, Googles, and Microsofts of the world. One way of viewing wages is that they are one piece of the "value" pie we offer our people. Some of the others are recognition and appreciation, continuous learning, and a fun and inclusive culture. Thank you for giving us something to think about - attracting and retaining talent is important!

Pros

I love working here. The opportunities to learn are endless! I feel as though my position is now tailored for my strengths, and that my career is on the right path. Promotions from within are encouraged, and the best person for the job is always considered carefully. BMC has an open door policy, and I never have any problems talking to anyone about anything. If I have a concern, it is taken seriously and it is fixed right away (or steps are put in place to start the process). The support is a big part of how BMC feels like a family. We have very open communication in the office, with daily "huddles" happening just after lunch so everyone can voice any questions or concerns (to the whole team), and get help and feedback. Very rarely do we have useless, unproductive meetings - actually, thinking about it, I don't think I've been to one that is useless. We have a ton of team-building events as well, from bowling to skating to learning to swordfight. We have a Sun Run team, that has just started in 2014 but we are definitely running again in 2015! We also play in the SPFK (Slo Pitch for Kids) tournament, which supports the Make a Wish Foundation.

Cons

We are growing pretty fast, so there are some typical growing pains. Especially as roles are being more clearly defined and specialized, and everyone needs to re-learn what someone does (not completely, but it can still be a bit of a challenge).
