      Horrible, Toxic Work Environment - Artist CatFace Employee Review

      Pros

      Decent pay and benefits, extremely talented coworkers.

      Unhinged behavior from the CEO created a culture of fear that permeated the entire office. Employees were publicly yelled at and cursed at, and when this issue was brought to HR nothing was done aside from coworkers being told to have a good attitude about the abuse they were taking. Upper management ganged up on certain employees to push them out and encouraged infighting by calling middle-management out for problems they did not cause in public chats. If upper management were less involved in the day-to-day processes of the company it would be a much better work environment but unfortunately, they can’t help but self-sabotage. It’s a shame because their IP has a lot of potential, but I don’t see it going anywhere when turnover is so high and the company heads are difficult to work with. Feedback from them is extremely inconsistent and they are indecisive about what they want from certain projects, often changing their minds in the middle of the production process. On the positive side, pay was pretty decent across the board and depending on your position, hours were reasonable (though my understanding is that things have gotten much worse since I worked there and some people are in the office until 10PM). Coworkers were excellent, there are many talented people at Catface who are too good for the work they’re doing and have a lot of unrealized potential. Unfortunately, I am still suffering from PTSD as a result of how I was treated at this company. I started experiencing nightmares and panic attacks and when I was eventually let go it was a huge relief. No job is worth your mental and physical health. If you put any value in either of those things please steer clear of Catface, it’s a sinking ship that feels like it could go under at any moment.

      We can't clone the management....my only complaint lol! No seriously from the big dogs to the each member of the team...just amazing creative individuals!

      Pros

      Some coworkers are decent and talented people.

      Cons

      I have worked for quite a few companies, but never one as toxic, unprofessional and frustrating as this one. Upper management is cliquey, out of touch, and address you like you're a child. They call out people's mistakes openly, and reprimand you for bad calls other managers make. They lay off people left and right, calling it restructuring, then only reward the people they're buddy-buddy with with promotions. There is no job security here. Yes the content is interesting and the idea of working for a YouTuber is alluring, but don't be fooled. Not to mention compensation is not competitive and the PTO is an absolute joke. Upper management and HR always talks about how their doors are always open and they want feedback, but it's all smoke and mirrors; they don't actually listen to your ideas or suggestions. You're expendable no matter how many years of your life you've worked here, and the constant layoffs around here are a reminder of that, then they brag about how big the company is growing. Please read the other reviews here and don't take the chance on this place. It's not worth your time, and there are much better opportunities out there. Take it from someone who knows.
