    I worked at Cloudreach

    Pros

NOC provides engineers with a work macbook, the office featured small pool table, foosball and company sponsored snacks&drinks.

    Cons

Salary slightly above minimum wage with possibility of weekend and night on-call work (paid per work unit). NOC operations engineers are tasked with second line support of Cloudy infrastructure, but company was going in direction of more first line support (resetting passwords, retrieving deleted emails), which dramatically increased workload (not in a fun way). Also the direction company chose to go was to hire unpaid...

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring unprofessional interns for unpaid labour. Invest in automated systems and move away from manual tasks and first line support. Improve performance review process with clear guidelines of earning and benefits growth.

I have been working at Cloudreach full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There are still some great people at Cloudreach below the senior management level who go above and beyond to try and make this a great place to work. Despite the nice to haves being reduced there are still many perks to work at Cloudreach. The company has ambition and aims to be a market leader. Middle management are still worth following.

    Cons

The hypergrowth has diluted the feel of working for an exciting start up, as such it has become like any other big business without the bonus of established routines, processes and equivalent renumeration. The company has shifted from being European led to being American run (this is only a con if you prefer the former) with a change in focus, priorities and leadership style. Although I was not aiming for any promotions...

    Advice to Management

When I joined the company everyone around me said it was a great place to work. Now it feels like the only people who say this are the higher echelons of the business to the point it feels Orwellian. This, I feel, is the wrong way round and consideration should be made of what worked previously and how it can be infused with the current direction.
