Pros

Staff members are generally friendly and collaborative, and most older adults in the program are pleasant to work with.

Cons

The work environment is challenging due to the organizational structure and leadership practices. The AVP maintains a constant presence in the program office and frequently involves herself in day-to-day program operations. This heavy level of oversight results in pervasive micromanagement that places unnecessary pressure on staff and negatively affects workflow. The impact of this pressure is felt throughout all levels of the program including the Program Director. Additionally, there is limited autonomy for program sraff. Program Director and LMSW share an office, and the Program Director consistently defers to the AVP, which significantly restricts independent decision-making and creates a tense environment. These conditions create a restrictive and high-stress atmosphere that undermines professional effectiveness and overall program functioning.
