You are your own department. Flexibility exists at the discretion of one supervisor. You are independent with no subordinates reporting to you.

Each person is their own department without others to delegate work to. You'll be accountable for a lot with limited access to your only supervisor. Since colleagues are their own department too, you're competing for time with the boss. Energy can be spent on the same handful of clients, though this is true of any organization.
