I have been working at DFID full-time

    Pros

Flexible working hours, part time working and job shares

    Cons

Internal transfers difficult, inexperienced line managers.

    Advice to Management

Line managers need to be sufficiently trained and experienced. Kids straight out of uni should not be managing experienced members of staff regardless of them being in the grade above.

    I worked at DFID full-time

    Pros

    - Good salary and benefits for seniority, particularly overseas

    Cons

    - Being a 'civil servant' makes the work somewhat different than working for a humanitarian agency - Bureaucratic
