I have been working at Evolent Health full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The team I work on and the people I work with.

    Cons

What happened to this place? Everything that made it a great place to work...gone. No more team events, no more 401k, bonuses were cut, no pay increase, no holiday party, no more snacks and where is the coffee and tea?!?! Also, top talent and good managers are leaving. These things made Evolent a fun place to work, kept employees motivated and made it so that working hard/long hours was okay because it was balanced...

    Advice to Management

Figure out what direction we are going and communicate. WHY are our C-level executives so bad at telling us the truth about what is going on? Stop trying to sugar coat things...there is no way to sugar coat laying off 6% of the employees. Address it, be honest about it and let us know what is coming next and what it means for the employees that are still here. Lets put on our big boy pants please. It's not fun to...

We hear you, and are empathetic with how you must be feeling with these changes. Please know, that when it comes to benefits, several factors were taken into account when these changes were made. A ton of information was gathered from the market to ensure we remained competitive. ...

I worked at Evolent Health full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Amazing direct manager and enjoyed the people I directly worked with on a day to day basis. Good PTO plan, especially since i started before they reduced the PTO for any new hires.

    Cons

Terrible communication between departments from different locations, approval process takes forever that it's almost impossible to hit deadlines on projects, upper management ask the same questions to answers that have been given multiple times by multiple people already (they seem lost), quarterly layoffs that put extra work on the people who are still here without compensation, CEO promises growth in company wide meetings...

    Advice to Management

Listen to the advice of people around you (as it is one of your core values - Start by Listening) and realize that new plans take time to grow and won't be profitable in their first year. If you can't plan to take a hit from new business ventures without having to layoff people constantly, then you do not have a good business model.

I have been working at Evolent Health full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Awesome benefits, ability to work from home , and amazing coworkers. Evolent has a knack for hiring very intelligent people.

    Cons

Cross-company terminations. Not layoffs, but termination. Evolent lost a huge amount of their talent, only to later post positions that could have been filled by experienced personell.

    Advice to Management

Give employees a heads up if there are upcoming budget constrictions. Many were terminated that had extensive knowledge of Evolent and essential work that is sorely missed. They were lost, not realizing this was a possibility and had to find jobs elsewhere. It was very sad to see so much talent that Evolent lost. I feel that this could have been avoided by allowing current employees an opportunity to apply for related...
