Pros
Strong success with digital maps especially in some markets (automotive). Very competitive benefits package Low turnover
Cons
It is historically a data/device oriented company. There is very little understanding of how modern software is built and no political will to get away from old style heavy bureaucratic processes and embrace fast paced and chaotic world of user centric software services. Lack of integrity and cynicism at all levels of management. Company is in denial regarding competition. Navteq should not be playing in the one sandbox with Google. Not until it changes its culture and becomes much more dynamic, realistic and focused. Software development capabilities and processes leave much to be desired.
