Pros

People who enjoy producing living beings for profit, people who are excellent at exploitation, and expert manipulators will thrive in this company.

Cons

If you've read any article or watched any video warning about toxic workplaces, this is a prime example of the companies they're discussing. If you are not a charismatic white man or a doormat, you will not do well here. "Constantly growing" means attempting to constantly increase production without the funding or staffing to do so. It also means lateral movements for many employees without clear expectations or goals, and no additional compensation. "We have integrity" is something that is expected of the regular workforce. Management and favorite employees can do and say as they see fit, integrity be damned. Favorites are permitted to stay after hours (clocked in or otherwise), use company property however they please, and generally make their own rules. Management would much rather get rid of the people mentioning broken rules than the people breaking the rules. If you see something, say nothing and you'll be just fine The animal welfare concerns far outnumber the human welfare concerns. Constantly growing in order to produce as many possible animals for sale without hiring sufficient staff means rampant animal neglect. Animal care often lacks proper lighting, appropriate temperatures, regular feeding, and regular cleaning. Expect to get your heart broken. Expect improper quarantine and regular disease outbreaks. Do not expect that you will be a successful advocate for the animals you care for. It's likely been said before and ignored. I'm sure the company has come a long way from multiple departments fully walking out. I'm sure they're past the days of firing or forcing out woman after woman. I bet the roof doesn't even dump foul-smelling red water on the keepers and their animals anymore. Surely the people behind these issues have changed their ways because they certainly haven't left. Some individual departments are alright. If you can keep your head down, abandon any higher standards of animal care, and agree to play by their rules without question, you'll do great. Charismatic white men and people with no boundaries are encouraged to apply. Women with opinions and people who care about animal welfare: you should run. You're better off working with lab animals. They often have better quality of life.

Thank you for sharing your opinion of the work environment while you were employed at Josh’s Frogs. Though it was disappointing to read how negative your experience was, we understand that our culture might not work for everyone. One of the best things about working at Josh’s Frogs is the people, and we are proud of the way we elevate all of our staff, both female and male. We are proud to state that we have strong female representation in leadership positions throughout all layers of our business. In recent years, our animal husbandry has been recognized by outside organizations as humane, compliant, and above standard. We are often leaned on to help other businesses like ours improve their husbandry practices, and we are excited about the new opportunities we have lined up to provide this training across the country to hundreds of other businesses! As you may recall from your time working with us, Integrity is a core value we hold dearly in our business. The situations you mentioned certainly do not align with that core value and were disappointing to read. We are sorry that you felt unheard and undervalued and perceived the business as a negative atmosphere for your values and growth. As with any business, we have experienced turnover as a result of our pursuit to Constantly Grow (another core value). As we have improved processes and built better systems and efficiencies, we have shifted our expectations for all employees, and that has caused some employees to pursue new opportunities. We hope that you have been able to find a healthier work environment that has enabled you to grow and fulfill your career goals. If you would like to have your complaint addressed more directly, please reach out to hrteam@joshsfrogs.com.

Thank you for your review; however, you may have left it for the wrong business. Josh's Frogs is located in Shiawassee County, Michigan, and not in Inver Grove Heights, MN.

Pros

Retrieving wild frogs from customers houses and delivering the reptile back into the forest or near by rivers. Searching for infections or diseases that can affect their immune system and writing vitals for our in house veterinarian.

Cons

Uncomfortable interactions with patients because we only take certain pet insurance, and unfortunate discussions about copay as well as not being able to offer discounts in times of financial stress.

Hello and thank you for leaving a 5-star review for Josh's Frogs! We are grateful to receive such an awesome rating from you, however, we believe you may have left this review for the wrong business. Our business is located in Michigan and our facilities are not open to the public. We love the idea of being able to offer a service to Michigan residents where our staff could retrieve wild frogs from customer homes and deliver reptiles back into the forests and nearby rivers, however, it is not something that we currently do. Our facility only provides veterinary care to the animals we keep in-house. Again, thank you for the 5-star rating and the honesty in your review. We hope you can leave this review for the correct business as we believe the feedback would be valuable for any business to receive!
