Management would much rather get rid of the people mentioning broken rules than the people breaking the rules. If you see something, say nothing and you'll be just fine The animal welfare concerns far outnumber the human welfare concerns. Constantly growing in order to produce as many possible animals for sale without hiring sufficient staff means rampant animal neglect. Animal care often lacks proper lighting, appropriate temperatures, regular feeding, and regular cleaning. Expect to get your heart broken. Expect improper quarantine and regular disease outbreaks. Do not expect that you will be a successful advocate for the animals you care for. It's likely been said before and ignored. I'm sure the company has come a long way from multiple departments fully walking out. I'm sure they're past the days of firing or forcing out woman after woman. I bet the roof doesn't even dump foul-smelling red water on the keepers and their animals anymore. Surely the people behind these issues have changed their ways because they certainly haven't left. Some individual departments are alright. If you can keep your head down, abandon any higher standards of animal care, and agree to play by their rules without question, you'll do great. Charismatic white men and people with no boundaries are encouraged to apply. Women with opinions and people who care about animal welfare: you should run. You're better off working with lab animals. They often have better quality of life.
