Pros
*Feels like a flat org structure- can talk to people at every level easily *Very few useless meetings *An actual merit-based promotion structure. A small tech department means there aren't lengthy and formalized promotion tracks, but the upside is that high-performing employees are usually rewarded or promoted faster than the typical annual cadence.
Cons
*The employees that do best here are self-driven and impact-hungry. The flip side is that it is not as rewarding to "coast" or to go with the flow. If you want lots of mentorship, you have to proactively acquire it.
