The good reviews are not real.
- Messy company, lack in communication across departments.
- Never ending IT issues, expect you to solve but company doesn't send you for training
- Plenty of politics in the company, and toxic environment. People gossiping about each other and even the managers backstab you.
- Chinese company but not given any back to work red packet when resuming work after Chinese New Year. (Chinese New Year we worked as well) Company did not give, neither did the manager or department head. Red packets were only given to the selected few who return to office but we are on Work From Home arrangement?
- A lot of preferential treatment in the team whereby there is obvious favouritism to certain individuals. Whatever complaints made against those individuals, the manager will turn a blind eye / deaf ear to it.
- Team Lead who does not keep you updated of the new changes in the company and cannot be bothered to teach you the new skills. She also does not inform anyone when she takes MC / goes on leave.
- Team Lead is always pulled away for meetings during working hours ( usually on the most hectic days), leaving that day's shift 1 man short and having to stretch the manpower to get work done.
- Team Lead very unhelpful, always staying on the same platform when even when the other platform is flooded and requires help urgently.
- Plenty of meetings but nothing much have been done/ improved and plenty of issues have been shelved/ still ongoing.
- Feedback brought up by staff / parents fall on deaf ears, no changes made. if changes are made, they don't solve old issues, creates new issues for the team.
- Monthly homework delivery issues pouring in. Person in charge of that project does not do her job well and refuses to clean up the mess properly. Just throws you to get scolded by parents and gives you an excel file to fill up all the details in.
- toxic manager who openly shames you in front of colleagues, goes round creating discord among team members, also goes round spreading false rumors around the department
- Was tested positive for Covid few weeks back. On the last day of my MC, I was still positive and unable to turn up for work the next day. Doctor said no more MC is needed as Govt has changed the rules. I messaged 2 hr staffs in the afternoon to check on this, one left me on seen, the other responded to me next day at 11am that I need not produce an MC. By then I had already worked for close to half a day.
- No work life balance. Got called back to work on off days numerous times
- Projects were involuntarily shoved down
- Promotion given to staff who threw down her responsibility midway of the year and left a lot of backlog and loose ends for the rest of the team to clear.
- There are team members skiving on the job. Some have since left. When some of us brought it up to the manager, excuses were given to us, like, "first time working, give chance a bit", "they are paid peanuts, so you would expect peanuts also", "they are leaving already, let them be", etc. But I am earning peanuts for my paper qualification as well.
TLDR; toxic environment, incompetent Team Lead, lots of politics and backstabbing, favouritism, no work life balance.
