Pros

Incredible opportunities and training - If you enjoy content, you have the opportunity to get involved in and learn so much at Livewire; writing, editing, conducting video interviews, video presentations, podcasts, webinars, community moderation, building emails, SEO training and more. You are only limited by your imagination at this business. Good people, mentors, and managers - Your team supports you and has your back. Whenever I struggled with creativity or workload, my colleagues would immediately step in and help. They want you to genuinely enjoy the job and reach your fullest potential. Mental health awareness is a big thing at the company and there is no politics – just solid hard work. Iconic brand - This is not one of those places where you publish something and wonder if your work disappears into the ether. Everything is rigorously peer-reviewed, tracked and open to public opinion. You deal directly with high-profile businesspeople every day and they need you to make their thought leadership shine. As a result, when you do a great job, you feel incredibly satisfied because the client is happy with the way you have portrayed them and their views. Inclusiveness and trust – Livewire management always considers your needs and preferences in any type of activity; whether it’s planning for the week ahead, team building events or a work lunch, they go out of their way to ensure you have as ay and feel included, welcome and wanted. No other company that I have worked for in Australia cares that much about each one of their people. They also put an enormous amount of trust in you given the elite status of clients you’re dealing with. Competitive remuneration – The salary is competitive and from my experience on the higher end of what you should expect in journalism/editing roles.

Cons

If you enjoy being a freeloader in the workplace, Livewire is not for you. This is a difficult job and suited to someone who loves finance, content creation, and wants to grow to their fullest potential. If you do not enjoy being social and speaking/collaborating with colleagues/high-profile businesspeople, Livewire is not for you. If you take yourself too seriously and/or can’t accept constructive criticism, Livewire is not for you.

Pros

Working at Livewire was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career and I learnt SO MUCH! As a Partnerships Manager, I felt really supported and genuinely excited about the work I was doing. The culture is very collaborative and you work with people who really care about the product and the audience. The partnerships team works really closely together and always celebrates wins as a team - I had a lot of support from my coworkers from day one and throughout. It’s a great environment if you enjoy ownership, creativity, and building really strong relationships. My manager was the best person I’ve worked with in my career to date and I felt so lucky to have someone like him guiding me over the years to be the best version of myself! Livewire are also very flexible and the work life balance is just right. The co-founders have built something incredibly special and I feel like there is so much more to come with their growth story!!
