Pros
Pretty good benefits (health/life insurance, 401k) package. Opportunity to advance if you work hard, especially in the DC/Maryland/Virginia area where the jobs are more plentiful. They give you sufficient advance notice regarding layoffs, sometimes will relocate you, will always help with your resume, and HR will try and place in similar positions across different of the county.
Cons
No longer offers a pension plan but does offer 3 weeks vacation to start.
