Pros

The team is incredible. Some of the most dedicated and hardest working people I've ever met. It's a huge shame how management treats them.

Cons

-5 days of PTO. read that again. 5. DAYS. OF PTO. -Evil bosses who are proudly and loudly in their villain arc -You will be expected to perform job duties that fall WELL outside of your job description and experience, but not for the sake of learning. -In fact, the boss likes to gatekeep his wealth of knowledge and thinks you should already know everything you don't know and blames you for not knowing. -As a result, you learn a lot on the fly, which isn't inherently bad, but each mistake costs you respect and rapport from the boss. Mistakes should be turned into learning opportunities, but instead, you'll spend hours trying to avoid making the boss mad over miniscule things. -They expect you to either skip breaks or work late, period. -They will ask you to take on extra work CONSTANTLY but refuse to give out raises, even promised ones, even COLA raises. It really feels like they hate their employees. -They present themselves as super legit but everything is on the brink of collapse all the time. They try to compensate for this by asking people to take on multiple, unrelated roles, such as SEO specialists becoming Account Managers responsible for project management and client communications on top of all SEO duties. They would rather ask you to do the jobs of 2-4 people (with barely the salary of 1 person) than hire qualified people for various roles. -EXTREMELY understaffed with zero intention of expanding the team to make their employees' lives bearable. Again, they'd rather combine multiple roles to save money. In fact, people get laid off literally all the time. -Both bosses have said extremely heinous, problematic, nasty, toxic things directly to employees. -Company culture is extremely toxic. Don't be fooled.

Pros

Usually, within only a few months of starting a job, the cracks start to show. The only cracks I've seen here are the typical growing pains that come along with what is still a relatively new agency, if you consider how they formed during the peak of Covid. I enjoy how you truly have a voice here, that if you see that something isn't working, you can tell them that, and they actually listen and do what they can to fix it. You're not just putting a slip into the suggestion box that gets tossed out without ever being looked at. The team at MeanPug legitimately cares about each other. They also care deeply about their brand and how they position it. I can feel good every day that I work for a company that has integrity and that isn't tone-deaf to the concerns of both its team and its clients. You know how you can tell when someone actually cares about their job, that it's more than just a paycheck and that they're actually happy to work there? Well, that's the team at MeanPug.

Cons

If you've ever worked in an agency, especially a new-ish one, then you know the growing pains that come with it. Specifically, working in content, for example, means you handle *all* forms of content, so you may end up wearing many hats, even the hats you think you can't handle.
