Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. It’s always great to read positive feedback, so we really appreciate that. As you’ve already experienced, OSTC prides itself on having a family-oriented culture, not a stereotypical corporate one. We’re all part of one team. Good career progression has also always been high on our employee agenda, and we’re delighted to have you with us, both now and in the future. Kind regards, Kavita Khosla Group HR Services Manager

    Pros

The role itself is great, you get access to trade in some very global and popular as well as certain niche markets. You get the opportunity to work with some very bright and motivated individuals. The education arm of OSTC produces great content to assist in learning about different things within the markets.

    Cons

The local management lacks ability to understand when they are pushing an employee beyond limits. There have been multiple instances of unprofessional language/tone being taken up. There is a lot of talk about mental health and other buzzwords but no one cares if you put in 12 or 14 hours every working day. It almost feels like working 8 hours might be frowned down upon. Constant micromanagement from within country's management team with no oversight from above is slowly driving the good people away. Country's management seemed completely out of touch with the seriousness of COVID-19 with constant plans being made for reopening offices even as cases continued to spike.

Thank you for your feedback. We really appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us. It’s good to hear that you enjoy participating in the markets and have been able to enhance your learning through the content produced by our education business, ZISHI. As you will already know from your experience, being a successful Analyst is extremely challenging and unlike other traditional finance roles, the working hours for each Analyst are determined by the markets they participate in. We appreciate working hours may be longer for some Analysts, which is why we make every effort to explicitly highlight that point during the application and interview process. It is in our best interest to ensure people who work for OSTC in India or other locations are well aware of this fact before taking up the role. We’re pleased to be able to say that in a performance driven industry, our attrition levels are in line or slightly better than the industry average, and we are glad to have been able to retain a team of high potential analysts in such challenging times. With regards to the reopening of the offices after COVID-19, our plans have always remained in line with guidelines from the state government, and the return to office decisions were made long after most of the corporates across the country had already started reopening. As you may have noticed, when the Mumbai cases were rising and the period coincided with date of reopening the office, our plans were put on hold for a review until the situation improved. We believe this is reflective of our commitment to wellbeing and the safety of our people. Wellbeing is an area we take seriously and continue to invest in and focus on. We pride ourselves in not just promoting wellbeing, but leading by example when it comes to supporting our people. Part of our commitment has seen us invest in training line managers and leaders to mental health first aider status, with representation across all offices. We also have an Employee Assistance Programme which is a free service that you and your family can access even outside of work for any wellbeing support and advice 24/7. Please reach out to the service for help if you need it. In addition, we have a wellbeing network group which employees from across all our countries are represented. This group can be used as a platform to inform the executive of any issues arising in relation to employee support, and enables leadership to handle underlying issues. In fact, 25% of the wellbeing network group members are actually from our Mumbai office, so again please do reach out. It’s important to note that we also have clear policies when it comes to confidentiality, issues with bullying, whistleblowing, harassment, etc. and we encourage our people to reach out in confidence to the HR services team or dedicated wellbeing manager with any issues they feel are causing them physical or mental distress. We hope this answers your concerns, and once again we thank you for your constructive feedback. Regards, Chintan Thakkar, Managing Director for India

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. It’s always valuable getting feedback from past employees as it helps us to ensure the needs of our people are met. We take great pride in our mentorship programme, so I’m pleased to see you found it beneficial. Regular contact with line managers and peers helps to keep communication channels open, and as you say, improve your ability as a you grow your skills as a market analyst. Wellbeing is also high on our agenda, and we have practices and support in place to help our employees maintain a healthy work/life balance. We do understand that the nature and timing of the markets can sometimes require work to be done outside of traditional working hours. This is something we always make clear during our initial recruitment stages. Thanks again for your review. We’re pleased you found working for OSTC a rewarding experience and we wish you every success in your future endeavours. Kind regards, Chintan Thakkar Managing Director for India
