Pros

I can not say there are any pros to this job.

Cons

Poor management. Owner and Store Manager has no control over their staff. Sales associates and keyholders have bad attitudes and come off as know -it-alls. They hired me as an Assistant manager but the Store Manager avoided training me because she did not find it important enough so she had her keyholders who obviously have no respect for authority try to train me. The staff has such bad attitudes especially one keyholder who obviously wanted my position and completely came off bitter and I witnessed this employee racially profile a customer and argue with a customer on the sales floor when clearly the customer was in the right. I walked out. You can't possibly think it's ok to allow keyholders to train an assistant manager. You can't possibly think not caring to train your assistant is showing that you value them. This company doesn't know how to motivate their staff to do well. They expect someone else to do it without training them. I would avoid this company like the plague. I found way better just 2 days later. I'm glad I walked out because if I did not I would not have gotten the amazing opportunity to work as a GM with an organization that values me so much they flew me out of state to get the most amazing training experience ever with my retail counterparts and corporate.

Pros

The best thing about PO.P is that they are like family. Some days you love them, other days...well, not so much! But all in all, an excellent place to work and grow!!! If my store location had not closed, I would still be there. As part of management, training takes place in a neighboring store for about a week; but there is a lot of support if you need help. Everyone from the owners to other store staff are always around to lend a helping hand. This company values integrity and honesty above all else. Skills can be taught, but these innate values, just...are. This a very fun and engaging place to work!

Cons

The biggest challenge is there is no policy manual in which to guide you. There is not a good benefit program for part-timers, although full-time employees get paid holidays, healthcare assistance and bonuses. Because the stores are so small, it is sometimes a challenge to get consistent hours.
