I have been working at Pret A Manger (More than a year)

Pros

Free food, paid breaks, making cool products, great possibilities to progress

Cons

Early shifts, rude behaviour at the workplace (kitchen manager shouting at everybody), rushing all the time

Advice to Management

The training should be more about encouraging people than about shouting and shaming them. Together with very early starts (5 AM mostly) it has been the most stressful job I have had in a couple of years.

I have been working at Pret A Manger full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Paid food, hot drinks, breaks. Discounts, environment, people, parties, bonus and some awards.

    Cons

The pressure, targets and mystery shopper standards are extremely hard to follow. Every shop has less people than required as this affects shops profitability.
After 2 years, I have realised that the company does not care as much about the staff as they did a year ago or more. There are less awards, pay is about the same as average now and shifts starting from 5 only increase health problems.

    Advice to Management

Please have the staff send feedback more often about working within the company. Especially about the managers that come externally, as most of the time, their personality only is good for business, but not for the people that work under.

I worked at Pret A Manger full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Pret it is a good place to work, the most enjoyable part is the work environment, you will work with a young and motivated team and it is easy to get promoted
-Very good customer service experience , had a lot of fun with co workers , payments were weekly and were straight forward .
-The company is paying two massive parties, one at Christmas and one in summer time.

    Cons

-The kitchen was almost always busy. You need to be fast and deliver the production on time (sandwiches, baguettes, wraps, salads, yogurts..).
-The shift are starting at 5 am so that means you need to get up very early in the morning.

    Advice to Management

The mystery shopper coming too regular.
