I have been working at Pret A Manger full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Very good salaries within the industry, compared to other big chains, great meal allowances,
opportunity to work within a team of people from various countries, great opportunities to step up within the ranks of employment, strong customer service orientated job

Cons

Tends to get very stressfull during busy periods with lots of pressure from the management, deadlines to keep throughout the day, time limited tasks, sometimes late payment of the over time, working 8days in a row according the rota, calls to come to work on your day off if other team members calls in sick, not fair salary rates for all the team members

Advice to Management

it would be great if employees wont be treated only as a work force that helps make money

I worked at Pret A Manger part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great wage with a great incentive to work hard- the mystery shopper.
The food and coffee are exellent
It's nice to see the food go to chartiy
People are from all over the world, so a great enviroment
Lots of parties with all food and drink paid for

    Cons

A very fast paced job- if you get flustered, you won't last
Many, many hours on your feet- they are quite stingy with lunch breaks (bare minimum eg 15mins)
Staff rooms are too small, cramped and just awful.
My branch didnt have staff toilets which was bad too, as we had to go upstairs and queue with customers.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work, but just consider your poor staff's aching backs and re-vamp the staff space.
