I have been working at Pret A Manger full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Worked with some of the most amazing people ever! Fun culture ( although this is becoming less) fantastic training

Cons

Forced to work without pay, expected to work during annual holiday, pressure on profit leading to unsafe food practices, bullying tactics used by Heads, unfair salaries, descrimination.......

Advice to Management

Please get the bullies out and revive Pret to its former glory. Used to be the most amazing company to work for, a job to be proud of. Now your people work in fear.....its time to listen!

    Pros

Simplistic approach. Think retail first. Career pathways from team Member to Director.

    Cons

Not too many. Pay could always be better, but everyone can acheive a healthy bonus.
Sometimes difficult for 'outsiders' to be accepted. This needs work. Nothing wrong with extending the Pret family rather than creating a new one.

    Advice to Management

Keep it the Pret way. Remind furture purchasers that it's the Pret people that hold the secret. Lose them, the company will rhubarb and crumble.

I worked at Pret A Manger part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Promotes team culture.
Staff are generally friendly and help you to learn the job quite quickly.

    Cons

    Staff remuneration.
Little or no room for progression sometimes.
Staff compensation schemes most times roll over into the business. This doesn't give a real sense of being rewarded for hard or exceptional work.
