Pros

- Some amazing, talented, & hardworking people - Good for the CV - Jobs after this will feel like a warm bath - People are friendly, it’s atrociously run, but they are driving you into the ground with a smile

Cons

- Company says they empower women but doesn’t pay their interns - No training whatsoever! (some variance between teams) - Very low pay with no perks/no perks that are affordable on such low salaries - Diversity is camera facing only. About 2 non white women in a company of 60 or so in London - Hiring/intern positions often go to friends of friends etc so the office is full of white private school girls who loosely know each other - cliquey. Or filled with people from the same previous companies - cliquey. Or co founders’ friends - cliquey. No commitment to true diversity or improving access or finding new talent. - Too many people pushed out by bad managers - Workload is unrealistic, employees encouraged to leave office at 6 but many work hours into the evening from home. - Overwork, lack of training, poor management and disorganisation dressed up as ‘learning opportunities’ - No HR & therefore no credible avenue for feedback - Entirely inefficient running of teams, tasks, departments, and the busy was - Continues to push ‘start up/small business’ reason as an excuse for not paying staff or vendors much, asking too many people to work for gifting, rather than money and making people take on 3 jobs roles at once - Exploits entry level employees who may not know what work should be like e.g. pay/expected hours, none of whom are being paid over £24k - Toxic positivity - outlining problems only to be told we have to ‘hold hands’ and useless platitudes, feels like you’re being gaslit constantly - Turnover of staff is alarming

RIXO Response

Thank you for taking the time to leave your thoughts - we take all feedback from our employees current and former seriously. As you have noted, we have recently recruited a People & Culture Partner to refine what it is to work at RIXO. We agree that we have lacked from not having a focussed HR role previously, and this is our first step to improving that. RIXO has grown rapidly, and we now have a much bigger team which needs additional support, including an improved induction and training process, as well as personal development and progression – all of this is on the HR roadmap. We also have twice yearly reviews to ensure everyone is getting the space to discuss their progress and development and raise any concerns they may have about salaries or otherwise. However, we never want it to get a point where someone has to ask for a pay rise, so salaries are reviewed across the business every year and we ensure that these are fair and in line with the market rate. As the business is expanding, we are recruiting a diverse mix of people – not just by age, race, and gender, but also from a range of businesses and industries – however, we always seek to hire the best person for the role. We understand that there is ongoing work to do to encourage a wider range of individuals to apply for roles, and this is something we intend to work on as part of our business growth. We would dispute that the office environment is uniform or cliquey and we are often complimented on how warm and welcoming are teams are to new starters. We’ve avoided as much of the politics associated with corporate businesses as we can, although we do agree that there is some work to do on refining processes now that are teams are getting bigger. We’re sorry you have left us on a bad note. We always welcome our leavers to undertake an exit interview, and would be happy to facilitate this retrospectively, if you didn’t take us up on it before. Thank you again for taking the time to leave your feedback. RIXO

Pros

nice team good benefits like private health care good staff discount founders are nice

Cons

Team at RIXO were great but they pay terribly. For the work that everyone does and puts into the brand, they really don't pay their staff enough which is a shame because it is a nice brand to work for and the team is great. The overtime hours are absurd and you are expected to work overtime and it's 'company culture' to work so many hours but not get paid for it/take it back. Would warn others to consider this.... All in all, the company is under-staffed, employees are over-worked and under-paid.

Pros

Absolutely none I can think of………..

Cons

Worst place to work in all my life, they undervalue hard working loyal employees. No appreciation but speaking to current employees it’s even worse right now. Promoting people with no background, the team structure is so messy. they have their favourites they pick for wider opportunities, awards etc. So happy to have left. I agree with the previous, if you’re not certain people from the Kings road store, or have connections there don’t apply for the roles!
