Pros

The only reason to work at any ROP Facility in Arkansas would be to protect and be a voice for the youth in the system who are locked up.

Cons

Understaffed, rarely any therapies or education…. It’s life a Holiday Inn Express for most of the youth and the staff are there to cater to them. ROP does not follow their own Policies and Procedures. Before you take a position in Arkansas….. do a little research….GOOGLE them and make some phone calls. ROP Upper management & CEO are the ones making money & carless about their staff.

Pros

Rewarding to work with the kids and help them succeed in the program. The kids are quite frankly the only positive of this job.

Cons

management will be your biggest obstacle. They simply don't care, they will gladly start a witch hunt if they believe you might have said something. Management is insanely toxic and typically doesn't help the coaches in any regards. I've seen a supervisor continue to play basketball with the kids when a coach was frantically requesting their assistance on the radio. They replied "I'll be right there" and then never left the gym. The type of kids housed under this program are not prepared for the strange academy style environment and thus coaches will be struggling with kids who do not belong there and trying to follow their strange procedures. Overall, its a horrible place to work. Management is unhelpful, apathetic, biased and toxic. Coaches are overworked, undertrained and underpaid with 12 hour shifts. This facility has high turnover rates for a reason but they will claim that "they just weren't cut out for the job" rather than admit they foster a horrible working environment run by horrible people.
