I have been working at Royal Mail part-time

    Pros

Better than minimum wage pay; keeps you fit; opportunity to get to know the people on your route if you don't get shifted around too much. Tonnes of overtime if you actually do want it.

    Cons

"part time" work rarely actually happens as the workload can be very variable and management are constantly trying to guilt trip you into overtime that you don't want. Obsession with item tracking means that you end up anxious about mistakes quite a bit. Plenty of rude customers who will complain about you to managemet (because their mail got wet in the rain, or because you had the gall to walk on their lawn) rather than treat you like a human being and talk to your face. No real prospect of progression.

    Advice to Management

Assume that if someone wants overtime they'll ask for it. Make sure you've checked tracking details before you question staff about things: it's irritating getting anxious about a mistake and then finding out it happened on your day off.
