Pros
If you want to switch departments, SAG-AFTRA is really good at hiring it's own people. So, once you're in (and you perform well) you can have a job for life. If not in the same role, at some role within the organization.
Cons
Raises are almost non-existent within the organization. It's a lot you can learn which is great, but if you're looking for monetary recognition for your hard work, it's unlikely.
