    I have been working at SGN part-time

    Pros

    Nice people, interesting work, supportive line manager, opportunities for development. Not micro managed. Ideas get listened to.

    Cons

    Can be frustratingly slow. Office environment is not great. Lots of unnecessarily long and dull meetings. Lots of long reports to create and read.

    Advice to Management

    Keep the best bits of the company but start updating faster - and stop people having such long meetings.

    # Pension, # over time # lots of training for field staff # good apprenticeship scheme

    Cons

    Senior management always interfering, no real career progression, big difference in payscales between D & C business for doing the same job

    Working here is interesting and keeps bringing new challenges. In my roll every day is different. I appreciate some rolls might not be as varied, however there are plenty of opportunities to progress and find new challenges within SGN.     Change can bring worry, but it is better to view change as an opportunity.

    Advice to Management

    I think that our preparations for the future are quite conservative. With "net-zero" on the horizon I think we need to take a more radical approach especially when taking into account the age of an asset.
