I have been working at SSE full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Compared to other call centres the salary is very good. The job isn't to complicated either.

Cons

I don't like repetitive desk work and would like to be up and moving around so the job doesn't suit me.

Advice to Management

Sometimes the manner that some management speak to you is very undermining.

    Pros

    Not many that you can't find else where

    Cons

    Dinosaur of a company. Ran like a sweat shop. Old Boys club. Bullying culture if you dare to challenge. Out dated IT. No new ideas. Unbelievable chum rate of employees especially in their home services business. 50% of engineers have had to be replaced in the last 2 years though them leaving! Safety culture is extreme. But only if it won't actually cost money. Poor tools and equipment. Cheap vans not fit for purpose. Work life balance is a joke. Un competitive pay. Instead of giving the chief executive a 72% pay deal. Give your staff a decent rise.

    Advice to Management

    Stop assuming management know best. Listen to what your front line staff are saying. Especially those with many years experience in the industry. Invest in the right areas. Give your engineers the rights tools to do the job. Instead of letting middle managers make their own little kingdom look good by cutting costs instead of making money. Look to see how to get the best from your staff rather then bullying them into working too hard for too long. Your home services buiness has stood still for 10 years! With less customers and engineers now then 10 years ago! Wake up an smell the coffee before its too late!
