Pros

Here’s what I’m not going to do in this review: I’m not going to say anything is ALL good or ALL bad. I’m not going to pretend like my experience is the only one that matters. I’m not going to try to convince you that my review is the only one you can trust or say that other reviews are fake. I’m not going to lie to you. I’m not going to write anything I don’t want to write. I used to use sites like these all the time before going into an interview or applying for jobs, so I wanted to give back and write my own review but I feel like things have gotten completely out of hand on here since the last time I used it almost 4 years ago. I don’t want to play any games and I’m not so self-absorbed as to think that the only review you’ll care about is mine, so I’m just going to tell it how it is and hopefully that’ll help you in some way. Since this is the “Pros” section, I’ll go ahead and list the things I like about working here. They’re not in any particular order, just however they happened to pop into my head: The work/life balance is good. You aren’t expected to give up every spare moment of your life to help make the company money. You come into work during the week, and when you leave, that’s it. No phone calls. No emails. When you’re off, you’re off. They pay a fair wage. My salary has gone up every single year I’ve been with the company, and when I first started they offered me a reasonable living wage. My coworkers are fun to work with. There isn’t any drama in the office, we all just get along. Management does their best. They’re not perfect, but it’s obvious they’re always trying to do right by us. The products are high-quality, so you don’t have to worry about fighting with your conscience to work here.

Cons

There’s also some downsides to working at Samba: Communication between the different departments is chaotic. Sometimes we’re all on the same page, but sometimes we’re not. The company’s medical insurance is expensive. There aren’t a lot of opportunities for those of us on the ground to give feedback to management. This is a big one, because I think it could help solve a lot of little issues we’ve been having.

Pros

Unless you fall under a specific group of favoritism, you will likely be miserable here after a short time. If your work philosophy is "we're not saving lives here", this may be the place for you.

Cons

You may get harassed, they'll call complacency meritocracy. They don't know how to manage projects, would rather do reorgs to look like they're addressing things. Talk in circles about problems instead of trying something. Accountability only flows downward.
