Pros

The biggest strength here is the people. The team is smart, motivated, and genuinely cares about building something meaningful. You work closely with leadership and customers, which gives you a much deeper understanding of the business than in larger companies. The company is honest about being early-stage and about the challenges that come with that. There’s no illusion that everything is finished — instead, there’s a clear ambition to build toward something bigger, especially on the AI and platform side, while still delivering real value to customers today. If you’re curious, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership, you’ll grow a lot here in a short amount of time.

Cons

The pace can be intense, and it’s not a traditional 9–5. You need to be comfortable with change and with building things while flying the plane.

Pros

Benefits are basic. Minimum benefits

Cons

A lot of the 5-star reviews don’t match what I experienced. Inside the company, many people question how real those reviews are, which makes it hard to trust the company’s public image. The company talks a lot about AI, but in reality there is no serious AI engineering review, especially in the US. If you work here, you quickly see the gap between what’s marketed and what actually exists. Leadership spends heavily on international travel without clear meetings or outcomes. Ask seniors from Smartly to hear honest reviews. How they spent the money, how it went in the company, why they left. The vision sold to investors and customers sounds big, but execution is shallow. Most “product” work feels like low-level copies of what competitors already offer. Customers are hard to keep because expectations are set unrealistically high, and delivery can’t match what was promised. Leadership is often out of touch and overconfident, which creates a disconnect between reality and decision-making.
