Pros

Colleagues are great and we work with some amazing clients producing brilliant events

Cons

Poor leadership, no women at director level and inexperienced managers. No regard for people's mental health and well being. 60-70 hour weeks are the norm. Directors only care about making money.

We’re really sorry to see this review from a member of our Smyle team, and want to reassure the writer (and anyone reading this) that we take this kind of feedback very seriously. Our culture and people are really important to us, and leadership is focussed on finding ways we can continue to improve the culture and evolve the agency. We are taking care to address work/life balance and well-being for our people given significant growth over the last 18 months, and in particular after a recent intense period of work for the whole agency. A number of measures are already in place – both structured and ‘soft’ – and there will be more to come on this throughout 2020.

Pros

It gave me income stability for just a year. Hiring me as a permanent employee was a decision not thought through. It would have been better to offer the role as temp work/fixed term contract.

Cons

Low salary, average/bare-minimum benefits package, and hybrid mode. No annual review. I felt very isolated and bored in this job because micromanaged, and there was rarely any contact with other team members as part of the job or in the office. My job could be done in 3 days a week rather than 40 hours. The manager was missing key knowledge to support and supervise me, they would -most of the time- redirect me to "claude AI", resulting in feeling that I have to figure out everything by myself and being anxious about potential mistakes, which could impact the employees severely. In general, the working standards were very low. I have seen poor integrity, very poor care for others, and immature behaviours from a few leaders. The Fora office in Albert House is not great. No natural light in the office, and a very dark kitchen. No company culture. I confirm the lack of diversity mentioned in Glassdoor several times.
