Pros

The kitchen crew was really close and I was able to make friends that I still have. Location was good, it was easy to get to.

Cons

Do more with less help, hired unqualified people to work in key roles in the kitchen. The chef that hired me quoted me a pay rate that was apparently higher than the position usually pays. after receiving my first check it was lowered by 50 cents and i complained and was told that after my review I would get what was promised to me. Instead I got a 25 cent raise. Instead of hiring qualified cooks they would get temp workers or people that were refugees from other countries that didnt speak english and had no experience whatsoever. On top of being extremely busy and shorthanded we were supposed to babysit these workers while still trying to get food out. Cooks were not taking breaks to make sure the work was getting done yet the 30 minute break was still deducted from their checks. Kitchen manager would mess up the order on a daily basis, we would be out of basic produce items such as onions, romaine lettuce and tomatoes.

Pros

My direct coworkers and other onsite employees are amazing and some of the nicest and most welcoming people I’ve ever met. The day to day responsibilities are enjoyable to work on most days. Company phone provided for work communications during work hours (you don’t have to take them home with you) Free meals on shifts worked (with restrictions) “Set schedule”

Cons

Work life balance is not great. You hire on for one position or schedule and then end up being required to perform job duties that are outside of your description on top of your daily responsibilities. Wages are really low. Unfair distribution of allotted overtime hours. Benefits are not good either. Insurance is really expensive for not great coverage. Maternity leave is only 6 weeks and only 60% of your pay covered by short term disability (that you pay for out of pocket until 2 years of service)
