Pros
- Cool Projects - On the cutting edge of retail and hospitality trends - Plenty of work to be had - Amiable workmates - Pretty good benefits for single young urban professionals - A host of internal happy hours and company events
Cons
- Lack of company vision beyond create multiple offices, beyond expanding what were we expanding for, who are we expanding for? Are we trying to be a "Gensler", a firm about its sheer size? Are we trying to be the retail experts in the Mid Atlantic Region? Can we really be everything to everybody? Are we really just an Architectural Interior's Firm? - Multiple little CEOs: Streetsense's main source of growth was from acquiring or merging with other companies. However, the transition to merge those companies rarely were implemented well. So at the end of the day, you have multiple Principals who have their own agendas outside of the companies agenda. "Open an office on the west coast" or they want to run their own independent office parallel to the company. It all results in a very segmented mentality for employees. - Turnover is very, very high. Most entry-level and mid-level employees don't last more than 3 years. - There seems to be a disconnect between Business Development and actual Work Production. This varies per studio/division but there is a definite disconnect.
