Pros
Nice coworkers, some interesting customers
Cons
• Managers are not given enough hours to effectively run their store • Little to no support from higher ups even though they make all decisions for the store (ie hours) • dangerous customers and being pressured to approach disorderly customers attempting to drink right outside our store • having to push your body to the max just to keep up with all the work because upper leadership doesn't provide enough hours • barely any opportunities for promotion I interviewed for a full time position (I've been working full time hours with no full time benefits for years) and thought I had a good opportunity until they closed a store in our city, switched over their full timer to our store, and for some reason lowered our store's hours even though our sales are almost double (summer time and other location closed). They threaten to take away manager's bonuses if they go over the allotted hours but the allotted hours don't even allow the basic running of the store. A store in another city lost their AC during a heat wave and employees were forced to work at the same pace. During the LCBO protests hours were not increased to assist in additional business. Instead our district manager bought us a pizza to "thank us" for our hard work. We had no time to eat said pizza since none of us take breaks to cover all of the work.
