Pros
Great company to work for. You have the freedom to choose the schools where you want to sub. You're in control of your own schedule. Per diem pay rate is fair and if you're able to take on a long-term assignment the pay rate is above average. It's also a gateway in obtaining a permanent position, especially if you work consistently in the same school and teachers and administrators become familiar with you and are aware of your strong work ethic. We are also able to collect UC during summer vacation.
Cons
No medical or dental benefits offered. I believe it's because employees are on a per diem basis. Although we are able to collect UC over the summer months, the compensation is not enough to cover all living expenses - but I'm more than thankful that we are able to get something nevertheless.
