Good projects, good people.....too political, too slow, too old school - Project Manager Transport for London Employee Review

Lack of professionalism, customer focus and urgency; too old school with people looking for stress free jobs for life and a lack of focus on delivery; departments very silo-ed especially the operational departments (e.g. London Buses, London Underground) - very protective and unwilling to adapt and improve; too much reliance on consultants to do the real work; senior management overpaid and unwilling to take decisions; too political as run by the Mayor who is elected every 4/5 years, makes it very hard to implement any large long term projects that would really make a difference (e.g. the current Mayor cancelled all the previous Mayor's projects mainly out of spite and to appear to be making cost-savings when in fact all of these projects were being funded by external funds and wouldn't have cost TfL (or the taxpayer) anything to deliver; too slow and bureaucratic.
