The people I work with are great, my boss is everything you would want a boss to be; hardworking, fair and friendly.

    Cons

Some of the procedures are a bit pointless. Could do with better equipment.

I have been working at Travelodge Hotels (UK) for more than a year

    Pros

There are no pros to this job. Management lies at job interview about the amount of rooms you will need to clean. Some days we have been given 25 rooms each to clean with no help from supervisors, told we have to complete excesses work list before we left to collect kids from school or it was a disciplinary . Other times you get about 5 or 6, which is 2hours work as you have to clean a departed room in 20 min and a stay over 9 mins.

    Cons

Ignored by management Lazy supervisors Expected to clean rooms in 20 mins to maximise profit margins so that the hotel manager or the assistant manager can get a nice bonus. While the housekeeper who is put under enormous pressure to clean 3 departed rooms in 1hour gets £7.50 and no guarantee of more then 4 hours work a week.

    Travelodge Hotels (UK) Response

June 6, 2017Resourcing and Talent Team

Many thanks for submitting your review. Travelodge is focusing on employing the right people, in the right place at the right time and as such hours across hotels will flex dependant on occupancy, but you will always receive the minimum hours as per your contract. You’ll be paid for the time you’re required to be at work. Whilst it’s reasonable for your Manager to set targets and expectations on how long it should take to complete any work tasks, we appreciate that on occasion there may be reasons as to why these times cannot be met. Travelodge is proud to have a diverse workforce and recognises that team members may have family commitments outside of work which we will accommodate where necessary. We’d really like to discuss the concerns you’ve raised regarding the way these expectations have been communicated. Please get in touch with the People Team directly on 03300412277 and we can talk about the best way forward.
