Pros
- Nice location
- Nice staff and nice customers
Cons
- Was made a shift leader/supervisor though I made it clear I didn’t want to be one and applied to be a barista/FOH only, and I was being paid minimum wage for this despite there being a supervisor rate
- Was not paid for my time opening/closing the shop, only operational hours were paid, upper management conveniently didn’t make the staff aware of this until people saw they were underpaid on their payslips
- There’s no actual manager running the shop, which is why they force people into becoming shift leaders so they can take on extra tasks to make up for upper management’s absence
- Was constantly being watched on CCTV even when I was doing my job. If management saw us standing even for just a minute they’d call the shop telling us to clean
- Upper management would try and force the staff to hand out flyers on the street…not my job nor was it ever in my job description
- Such a high staff turnover as people were fired after a couple weeks for no reason or chance for improvement or they quit as upper management were so horrible to them
- Owners would regularly come in, treat the staff like dirt and verbally abuse the younger members of staff especially
- The shop was put up for sale and the upper management did not make the staff aware of this. We had to find out through people coming asking to view the shop, I was even deceived into taking pictures of the shop under the guise of it being for the shops website and it ended up being for this ad they put up
- Just very unprofessional all round, I would be texted all the time when not at work from upper management. I was even texted over a week after I’d left the company from management asking where something was in the shop…who does that?
