Pros
Excellent exposure to not-notch professionals, both in uniform and civilian. The forward-deployed location provides incredible opportunities professionally and personally.
Cons
The roles and relationships between the COCOM, the service component commands in theater, and the service commands stateside is complex, and at times confusing and exasperating... but also makes the experience both challenging and rewarding. Senior leadership can, at times, be conservatively risk-averse and the atmosphere reflects a lower level of promoting innovation and creativity.
