Pros

It is a good place to start work at, a good starting point if you want to have a career in the oil and gas; you need to develop your own skills though as not a lot of help is available

Cons

Demotivating work environment; appraisals and promotion is based on the number of years you spent in the company and not based on your actual performance. No career plan , people 20 years older than you can be doing the same thing u do

Pros

Stable work relative to other petroleum industries around the world. Average salaries compared to other fields in the country.

Cons

No local or multinational companies can compete with Enppi as it is backed by the government and all multinational companies closed from the country. Need a friend in position of power in the company or the country if you think of excelling in the carrier. Low paying jobs comparing to same position in other companies with same skills. People get hired only and only if they have someone in position of power. A lot of the employees are not qualified for the job yet the company cannot fire them and they still come to hang around to finish their working hours and get paid as the other few who work hard everyday. Many different contracts for the employees, some have benefits and profit share but others don't. Some employees get reimbursed for working on site and some don't. Healthcare benefits is useless for some employees. Most management, hr, accounting and finance are worthless to the company because they are just unqualified and unprofessional. The company has a huge overhead of unqualified personal who keep the company from excelling.

Pros

1- Learning Opportunities: Employees can gain valuable knowledge if they are eager to learn and work. 2- Compensation: Salary is competitive within Egypt, but falls short compared to the global market.

Cons

1- Recruitment Practices: In many cases, recruitment criteria are heavily influenced by nepotism and favoritism, especially in non-engineering departments. However, graduates from prestigious universities in Egypt with high grades may still find opportunities. 2- Promotion and Bonus Criteria: The criteria for promotions and bonuses are quite flexible and often include factors beyond professional performance and hard work. Some employees adopt strategies like appearing busy without being productive or working overtime to catch their managers’ attention and demonstrate their dedication. 3- Overseas Assignments: The criteria for overseas assignments, which come with substantial per diems, are unclear. These opportunities are often first given to favored employees, with the remaining slots distributed to others. Some employees may even be penalized by being excluded from these assignments, regardless of their involvement in relevant projects. 4- Personal Boundaries: Some employees and management staff tend to overstep personal boundaries, and evaluations can sometimes be influenced by an individual’s lifestyle. 5- One of the most frustrating aspects of working there is the gossip and tweeting between some employees and management. Conversations often get distorted as they pass from person to person, Sometimes with added embellishments to make the story more interesting.
