    Pros

    Not much, occasionally a nice collegue to work with.

    Cons

    -Expectation to do overtime. -working 50+ hours on a 35 hour contract to keep shops open but no thanks from upper management. -“Old School Management” that don’t care about the direction the company are going, and expect younger staff to do their jobs as well as their own. -No career progression; absolute lie that it exists, when shop managers retire their shops are made into marketplaces, leaving no chance for new opportunity. -Bad rate of pay, expectation to work through lunch breaks. -No work life balance. -bad staffing as everyone is leaving for better paid jobs (like me!) cannot get replacements.

    Pros

    Easy work Good people Working with unlimited coffee breaks and sky sports Great if you like sports

    Customers can kick off Shifts mean working til 10pm including bank Holidays Impossible to progress

    Hours were good while I was a student. People were good to work with.

    Pros

    Many of the shop staff are brilliant. Why they put up with the relentless pressure from above is beyond comprehension

    Cons

    Above local shop management, nobody cares for anything other than targets. Targets for everything. If you reach a target, you get higher targets. Pay is minimum wage. Staffing crisis is now way past breaking point, so if you like 65+ hour weeks working on your own for 14+-hour days with nothing but pressure to meet ever-increasing targets and not take breaks, they are the company for you.

    Pros

    Flexible Hours Get a break Often quiet Sat down Good relationship with most customers who are nice Bumped up furlough to 100% of pay

    Cons

    Minimum wage Dealing with less pleasant customers Pressure, responsibility and fear of redundancy/sacking Impossible shop targets Higher level management not listening to csm voices

    Easy to do Meet lots of people Gain skills very fast as it is very fast paced and entails a lot

    Demanding hours Do the same work as the manager but do not receive the same pay Quite stressful at times
