Essentia Analytics hired me when I was a very junior developer and grew me into a confident and well-rounded professional. I was afforded many opportunities to own projects, learn new technologies, and worked closely with technical, financial and behavioral industry experts every day. By the end of my time at Essentia I was mentoring new hires and was helping to architect the next generation of our tech stack. Clare and her leadership team spearheaded an honest and positive culture which never felt forced on us. We went on company outings a few times a year that were always hilarious, and I would hang out often with colleagues for lunch or after work. The day-to-day work was collaborative and I always felt comfortable to speak my mind or ask questions. I feel grateful to have been a part of the team!
Cons
At Essentia you got out what you put in. Given the small size of the team, it was important for each of us to be proactive and engage with a variety of problems that needed solving. This could be hard for employees who expected to work a specific, structured role.
