    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Eversheds Sutherland full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Good people, work-life balance, innovative

    Cons

Hard to fault, although bonuses are poor and reward chargeable hours far more than entrepreneurship and other non-chargeable activity. This despite very stellar firm performance and huge PEP gains. Also, lacking diverse leadership. The firm works very hard at gender diversity, but lacking in the rest.

    Advice to Management

If you do not address the bonus scheme so that it rewards non-chargeable activity appropriately then you will lose diversity in your work force.

I have been working at Eversheds Sutherland for less than a year

    Pros

    Work life balance. Nothing else.

    Cons

Work culture is unbelievable. Colleagues are rude - if not slightly racist. People do not know each other at all, nobody is even introduced to the colleagues. Company is trying trying to be proud of what they are and what they have achieved but there is a huge gap between staff and senior management. Most of the people do not what they are doing, simply because they do not do much. Everything is micromanaged and there are more managers than regular staff. There is a culture of fear on the floor.

    Advice to Management

Reorganize the whole firm structure. There's too many people with unnecessary middle management positions.

    Pros

Small - can do well if face fits Pay is ok Some people are very friendly The global support teams are actually quite helpful

    Cons

Too many to mention. Worst culture I have ever experienced. Horrible place to work. Growth is restricted due to insecure management No work life balance

    Advice to Management

Move on - you need to go and let someone else take over. You have an archaic approach which is no longer any good. Stop being so scared of moving forward. Read Einsteins theory of insanity. That's you.

    Pros

People here are generally nice to work with and are respectful of your time and the importance of being able to maintain a work life balance; there are constant efforts to provide training and to improve the law firm experience which I appreciate

    Cons

Law firm is a law firm is a law firm.

I worked at Eversheds Sutherland full-time

    Pros

Great culture and great people to work with overall.

    Cons

Underpaid. Merger with Eversheds was not good for staff. Senior management was out of touch with staff and generally did not listen to staff advice or concerns. Work-life balance was not valued.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Eversheds Sutherland full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-- Friendly and approachable management. -- Generally the attorney's are reasonable in their requests and are easy to work with. -- Great firm culture. Fun breakfasts and team building events are held regularly. -- Good benefits/PTO. -- Hardworking and dedicated coworkers. -- Overall great place to work!

    Cons

-- Absolutely no work-from-home capability offered to staff, which is a HUGE con in today's professional world. This substantially impedes work/life balance. -- Below average level of compensation. HR is unwilling to negotiate and pay raises are scarcely given.

    Advice to Management

Transition away from the old "law firm" way of doing things and become a more tech-friendly firm. Understand that work-from-home is the new way business is done, and that many great prospective hires are shying away from employers who do not offer this option.

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Eversheds Sutherland full-time

    Pros

    - well-established firm, strong history - free meals - solid benefits/HR team - some employees are kind and helpful

    Cons

    - so much hand holding, it's embarrassing. Attorneys and senior staff are treated like children rather than successful working adults. - often thankless job, bonus was hundreds less than anticipated - compensation not worth the high stress and lack of work/life balance - often feel like being a woman in the office is a negative

    Advice to Management

Embody the progressive and friendly firm we claim to be
