I worked at Evolent Health full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Working from home was the only benefit.

    Cons

No supervisor, manager, or director has any real experience. Look at their CV on LinkedIn and no experience more than a few months at any job. They are all unable to do the jobs that they manage. Definitely no people skills.

I worked at Evolent Health full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I had a chance to work with some awesome people, mostly front-line folks.

    Cons

Leadership team (and this is mostly the old timers that have been there WAY too long) is very closed minded and completely lacks integrity. They say it is an "open" place to work but that is a lie. If you cross the wrong person(inadvertently or on purpose) they will use their experience and ability to get rid of you asap. Very high turnover which leads to bad environment to be in.

I have been working at Evolent Health full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Evolent pays well and offers a lot of PTO that doesn't take years to earn.

    Cons

Evolent grew very fast so there has been a lot of growing pains. While we have made great strides, we have work left to do.

I worked at Evolent Health full-time

    Pros

Just another average company, nothing too great nothing exceptionally bad

    Cons

Problems are not with the company but with the value based healthcare business model in general. I dont believe that this busniess really saves money for the end patient. People who really want to grow with various skill sets and willing to automate processes are not being used where as people who do the repetitive work sincerely are promoted. Office politics is everywhere. Once the company is in loss all the culture and values go out the window.

I have been working at Evolent Health full-time

    Pros

Decent salary. Ability to work remotely Generous PTO (unlimited for salaried and 24 days for hourly) Benefits on day 1

    Cons

There are way too many people in a leadership role. Many of which do not have anyone reporting directly to them. Not enough people to actually do the work. The executive leadership is a joke. There is constantly layoffs every year, because they cannot get their financials situated. Perhaps it is because they keep hiring or promoting to a Director level and up. Why would a VP report to a VP? They hired new leadership that do not value the employees. They constantly promote people that are not strong to lead a team and the team does not respect them. It is a constant fire. It actually brings it back to the old days before Evolent acquired Valence. The unlimited PTO is pointless because people are constantly working on their PTO. People are getting burnt out. We have to do engagement surveys which leadership is rated on. However, the staff are complaining about the company and executives yet you’re held accountable for the bad score. What is the point of an engagement survey when nothing changes. This place is driven on people that kiss butts and not results. If you can kiss a good butt then you get promoted. The good reviews you see are from the Arlington VA office. Let’s take them out of the equation and have a true average, I would bet that their rating will be less than 2 stars. The attrition rate is crazy. The really good leaders have left the organization and there was no announcement or explanation. Now we just want to know where they went so we can go with them. HR is a joke. Recruitment is a joke. They create stupid fancy titles like Chief of Staff just to retain people because they like the people and are friends. I am surprised that they still have loyal clients. The sales people promise clients the world that cannot happen. The system capabilities to process even the most basic of claims is non existent. Do not waste your time and energy at this company. Especially in Chicago.

I worked at Evolent Health full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Option to work remotely - Benefits were great but have been scaled back - Friendly work environment

    Cons

    - Company does not know what it wants to be when it grows up - no clear corporate strategy - Lots of innovation but very few standard processes leading to successful execution of ideas or products - No career path for middle management to advance - Blatant cronyism at the executive level - Lots of internal "patting on the back" recognition, while external peer-to-peer recognition of C-suite is lacking - Continuing job insecurity
