I have been working at Experian full-time

    Pros

professional modern company; committed to investing in oranisation, people, and infrastructure to deliver best possible service to customers; competitive remuneration; flat organisation with easy access to senior exec team and, generally speaking little politics

    Cons

'occasionally' cliquey and jobs for the boys at senior level; very numbers driven though improvement recently to become less short- termist

    Advice to Management

create a more transparent and objective career succession / talent process with meritocracy, results track record and assessment taken into account

    Pros

OK company to work for. Good work/life balance. Improving rewards/benefits.

    Cons

Lots of bureaucracy. Really slow pace of change.

    Advice to Management

Try to move at a faster pace and set a clear direction for everyone.

I have been working at Experian full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great variety of work, and incredibly challenging. The company feels like it's going in the right direction and has a genuine desire to be customer obsessed and do the right thing. Great product set, fabulous bunch of people with a high desire to do brilliant work together. Great benefits and work-life balance is massively improving (if you're in the right role).

    Cons

Some recent changes have been poorly handled by global leadership. This is unusual and I think because they forgot the basic principles of communicating during change. Quite bureaucratic to get key decisions made, although do understand the challenges of operating in a regulated business. Sense that some of the 'new' senior leaders are more bullish and sales focussed and losing some of the goodwill created under Don Roberts.

    Advice to Management

Don't forget basics of communicating to employees during periods of transition.

    Pros

Overall good company, strives to do the right thing for the employee Lots of opportunity due to breadth of business Expansionist policy through acquisition kept the company at the front of new markets

    Cons

Taken a quarterly focus on numbers to extremes - no medium term planning. Every decision was either quarterly driven or alternatively long term, rather fluffy "strategic initiatives" Some very risk adverse people, especially in the Nottingham HQ and the more traditional credit risk core business units. Could be stifling.

    Advice to Management

Focus on the 18 month time horizon and drive towards getting results over this period. Set the new business initiatives free from the constraints of the core business units to prevent suffocation.

I worked at Experian full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The benefits are good, health care, share save and pensions. It is a company that appreciates and rewards results. As with all corporates it is undergoing constant change and improvement.

    Cons

A bit of an email and meetings for meetings sake culture.

    Advice to Management

Dont be petty concentrate on the things that really matter

    Cons

Very red tape-y, things more very slowly, dated technology

I have been working at Experian full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent package, great extra's, that's the least of my pro's, the atmosphere and general supportive culture is outstanding. Great place to work. The interview and the process that followed was excellent.

    Cons

The overall recruitment process was excellent, however a little slow, the upside is that I was kept informed all the way through.

I have been working at Experian full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

People - feels like you're working with like minded adults! Pay - if you work hard then there is ample opportunity for extra income and advancement Travel - plenty of opportunity to travel if in the right role Trust - My experience is that employees are given a high level of autonomy

    Cons

American Centric - sometimes it feels as if the U.S. comes first Letting good staff go - too many talented people in lower positions have been let go in cost cutting exercises

    Advice to Management

Do what most management should do, be more: accountable; approachable; reflexive; employee focused; adaptable. Team building should feature more, as should subsidisation for staff events (nights out etc).
