      Pros

      Being the second biggest office building in the US it's a wild experience coming from small rural town to building that carries half of the population you grew up in. Having a passion for automobiles seeing prototypes, testing, data analysis, and various stages of vehicle production all in one building is special. You can take classes to improve in whatever field you're in. Want to learn about castings, performance aerodynamics, NX training, FCA had that for you. There is people that are truly passionate about the industry I worked with and design with best practices in mind. In my department it was nice having a wide time frame of when you can you arrive and leave and 98% of the time work never interfered with my life outside the campus. One of my favorite things about the job was the ability to work remote. This allowed me to get a lot more done at the comfort of my home or wherever I was located within the states.

      Cons

      Upper management can have a hard time making concrete decisions upon overall vehicle design in my department and lacked directive and can have the tendency to engineer vehicles in reverse order. This lead to inefficiencies, compromises that are not ideal, and delayed release dates. Granted, this was the particular project I was on and can not speak for other departments or vehicle divisions. Next, coming in as a contractor you don't have say on company performance and improvement despite doing the same things as a direct. Getting a direct position can be difficult and the company doing transitions is an ebb and flow event.

      Pros

      hard working employees when motivated, mostly clean environment, good pay and benefits. union was usually fair and just wanted to do their job, WCM can be usefull to improve workplace

      Cons

      WCM is often seen as something to be bypassed and can clog up the process with bureaucracy, long hours, PUL overtime is straight time, middle and upper management can be a hassle , nepotism runs rampant, can be written up for not trying to fire someone.
