I have been working at FDM Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Solves the catch 22 of education/experience. Their clients are at global stand. Really very impressive!

    Cons

little financial support (living expenses) through lengthy training

    Advice to Management

For the amount of money made from placement, there is plenty of space for a little more financial aid to the trainees whilst still recouping investment from academy.

I worked at FDM Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Well connected firm with good reputation. - Chance to gain valuable skills and experiences, depending on the project(s) you secure. - Can be a good stepping stone if skills and experiences are properly utilised.

    Cons

    - Due to the high supply of consultants at the firm; consultants tend to be treated as a number, because they can easily be replaced. - Account managers do not know the skills and experiences of consultants to recommend them for suitable jobs; account managers use the ”shot gun” approach, that is they tend to offer the client 10+ candidates for a position. The client likely selects consultant out of the bunch. - Limited...

    Advice to Management

While FDM worked out for me, I am aware of plenty of consultants who have had horrible experiences with the company. The most noticeable problem for me, is the business model used by the firm; it capitalises on the large supply of graduates each year who are hungry to work for a financial institution. As such, consultants are treated as short term assets that the company makes large profits on for the first 2 years. ...

I have been working at FDM Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They are honest about what the contract entails They do work with some very large firms, It is a great opportunity to get a big name on the CV The stream specific training was good The 2 years is a good time to get your skills polished for the next stage of your career

    Cons

2 years is too long of a commitment, 18 months would be a better starting point. Low salary compared to similar institutions As a firm they aren't terribly interested in your development, it's really on you to work out what you want to get out of your placement (an approach I actually rather appreciated but I know is a drawback for many)

I have been working at FDM Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

helps you to get initial experience

    Cons

no pay until you're placed and once you're placed in the first and second years they take 50-60% of the daily rate you earn at the client and this still remains at roughly 35% in third year and beyond that.

    Advice to Management

Dont set pay limits on third years and be straight up with your employees rather than misleading them on placement times

I have been working at FDM Group full-time

          Pros

Some colleagues are nice but be wary.

          Cons

Managers in all 3 schemes could support their team members better, lack of support or encouragement. This includes the Managers within Account Management too. Promise but don't deliver -shame really. They focus alot on diversity, I don't see much from Leeds or Glasgow offices. Place is full of liars and two faced people. If your fake you will progress well. Graduate scheme - if they like you or they need...

I have been working at FDM Group full-time

          Pros

Potential to work with employers I would otherwise have had difficulty in gaining access to.

          Cons

FDM over-recruit on programmes and vastly inflate the scale of roles available. Many people leave or are got rid of post training due to lack of roles. You’re a commodity, there to make money for the company; no more, no less.
