I worked at FSC Pediatrics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you want to break into pharmaceutical sales and nobody else is hiring, you might consider applying.

    Cons

The company is small and poorly managed. The salaries are low (30k to 60K), the managers micromanage and the products are outdated with poor reimbursement.

    Advice to Management

Shield your representatives from some of the stress the leadership is pushing down. Stop constantly having reps turn in useless reports every week so they can focus on selling. Help facilitate change inside to improve reimbursement, improve discount resources for patients and reduce over tracking of customers. You are treating the reps like children which is pathetic.

I worked at FSC Pediatrics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pharma is difficult to break into
Pediatrics is a good area to sell

    Cons

Management can be unreasonable wanting reps in an office twice per week which will eventually close the door and anger the offices. They are very pushy.
Management will not speak truthfully to corporate
Products are old and very expensive
Coverage is poor and in my territory non existent for certain products.
In some cases they get rid of good people who are simply limited in sales by the reasons I just mentioned.
For managed care issues there is no genuine support. The person in charge will answer your questions in rhetoric.

    Advice to Management

Have the integrity to acknowledge the true obstacles to success and speak candidly to corporate about it, instead of blaming good reps to protect your job.

    Pros

    - nice people
    - company car (an older model sedan)
    - reimburse expenses
    - flexible hours
    - great job for someone that just graduated

    Cons

    - Training - Initial training was great but then you immediately begin selling to doctor's offices alone. No ride alongs or anything at first. You will get maybe 1 ride along day per a month with your district manager. This is unlike most pharmaceutical companies.
    - No one knows who they are so it is more difficult to get through the door.
    - Poor coverage for products so most doctors are not going to prescribe the products.
    - Low pay.
    - High turnover

    Advice to Management

More training for new employees once they enter the field. Would be very helpful to ride along with a seasoned sales representative and shadow them for a few weeks.

I have been working at FSC Pediatrics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

FSC has a very community and family feel and is small enough that most everyone knows each other. With such a small company there is great opportunity to have your voice heard and be a central part of decisions.

    Cons

As with any company, the work/life balance can get off set at times. Because of the size there are limited human resources which can be both positive and negative since many people get to wear multiple hats.

    Advice to Management

Maintain the family feel that the company has and continue to look at expanding the available resources in order to keep growth on track.

I have been working at FSC Pediatrics full-time

    Pros

I have worked at FSC for 4 years and have witnessed firsthand the evolution and growth of this company. FSC provides many opportunities for professional and financial growth, especially for Sales Specialists. There are several corporate employees and district managers that have been promoted from a Sales Specialist. The environment has changed for the better within the past several months, you can see it in the culture shift. The corporate and district management leadership team really does care about the well being of the people that work here. There is minimal ‘micromanaging’ from management as long as you are performing. Very performance driven company, there are a lot of promotion opportunities for those that are successful.

    Cons

FSC is still developing as an organization and has experienced many growing pains over the past couple of years. They are making strides with recent base salary increases and promotions. FSC is very focused on patient advocacy but until they are recognized as a key player in the market, there will continue to be brand recognition issues.

    Advice to Management

Continue to develop your employees, especially your management team. The morale seems to be positive, keep this up.

I have been working at FSC Pediatrics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Bag has changed a lot in the last year - better products, if successful at sales, promotions can happen frequently, decent bonus opportunities, new cars, younger team/company, manager actually cares about my success

    Cons

Product insurance coverage is poor in my area, low company/brand recognition with customers, low product recognition with customers since they're all new

    Advice to Management

increase product coverage and national advertising campaigns to build more awareness
