I worked at FTI Consulting full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    – Good health and dental insurance – There are some really nice people in the office

    Cons

    – No work life balance, you are expected to work and be available at all times, though I appreciate this is practice/segment dependent – To this end, the salary is on the lower end of acceptable for the city – Although they say otherwise, they are not flexible working friendly. Again, this is likely dependent on the Practice/Segment, but nevertheless those working in administration should be very aware, particularly returning parents – High turnover and no accountability when the cause is senior management. Some of the practices are terribly managed and this is common knowledge throughout the firm, yet so long as these individuals are generating business/making money, a lot is swept under the rug

I have been working at FTI Consulting full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-some interesting projects -good learning opportunities -small teams means you get a lot of exposure to Partners -OK compensation

    Cons

-quite a lot of bullying -gender balance is really bad, possibly due to bullying -lack of transparency over promotions and compensation (women get paid less than men). Most promotions seems to happen if you are mates with the Partners -no formal training -work/life balance can sometimes be atrocious, if clients needs something there is no pushing back. Teams burn out quickly
