Pros

- Health Benefits and 401k Matching - Fitness Reimbursement Program - Employee Referral Program

Cons

- Prejudiced and Incompetent Senior Leadership - Performative and usually offensive DEIB work - Company Core Values are a farce - Rapid decline in culture - Unsustainable Clothing Brand - Advocating for yourself or others can get you fast-tracked to a new career In Faherty's beginning stages, it could boast loudly and so very proudly that its sustainably minded business and people-first culture were some of the biggest draws. Surrounded by hard workers with exceptional talent who were hungry to grow the brand, it was a true meritocracy where good work was rewarded and folks from all aspects of Faherty Life (Stores to HQ) had what seemed to be endless growth potential. I was part of this incredible phase of the company through the first half of my employment and for that, I will always hold the brand close to my heart -- we grew so much together. As they began to expand and I mean EXPAND from 9 to just under 70 stores in about 2 years, this wave of change brought with it new management teams and their corporate mentalities. These were VPs, Directors, and even C-Suite level employees who quickly dismantled company culture and demanded newer more insurmountable levels of productivity. If job descriptions were adjusted to account for new responsibilities or if additional compensation was awarded, these never came across my desk or those on my immediate team. When offering risk assessments and solutions to improve revenue in a very pivotal moment for the brand's health, I was consistently met with varying levels of retaliation from my superiors through to HR where I was effectively silenced and removed from any further conversations about my department. With the corporate pros building a new reality, you'd expect at least humble improvements to the business, however, we continued to witness month after month of big misses company-wide. After YEARS in the green, the performance was shocking and totally avoidable. Despite many promises that the HQ team would improve planning and overall management, it was the norm for decisions to be made the day of or change while a project was already live. Hey! Businesses need to pivot, that's, unfortunately, the name of the game. If you're joining the Faherty team ,however, do be prepared to give up weekends, holidays, or PTO as each day brings new unthinkable obstacles to overcome. I was never bored.

Faherty Talks The Talk But …

Pros

Company offers great perks like unlimited PTO, fitness reimbursement, paid lunches at Hq, generous clothing discount

Cons

Bad behavior is rewarded time and time again! Saw many toxic managers continue to climb the ladder while those who stood in their way were either passed up for promotions or pushed out. HR is a joke sure loves to talk the talk but never back it up. Preaches about wanting feedback however those who give honest feedback are gaslit about their concerns or have it weaponized against them. Don’t let the smoke and mirrors of Faherty fool you.

Felt like I had no other choice but to leave

Pros

Flexible schedule Benefits are good

Cons

Absolute terrible management - racist, always bringing up politics making it clear who they voted for, just so mean spirited, a bully for that matter, complained about a lot things that didn’t deserve to be complained about Extremely gossipy coworkers who would talk behind your back with management. Whether that was through text or stepping into the back room or office or waiting until you were on your break to talk about you. There was multiple times I caught my coworkers texting management gossiping about me. And not only would they talk about me but they would talk about customers making comments on their weight, appearances, making assumptions on their financial status, etc. Your achievements are never acknowledged but you do something wrong you won’t hear the end of it, it will constantly be held over your head, don’t ever expect your achievements to be talked about. Because of all the negativity my mental started to take a huge dive and it’s all thanks management. I wasn’t happy, I was extremely miserable coming into work everyday Management made a lot of things personal instead of keeping it professional Coworkers making fun of your weight multiple times and no repercussions to it when it’s brought up to management Always feeling uncomfortable using sick time or vacation time because more than likely you were going to get ridiculed by management for it, even if it was well in advance. You’ll be told you’re “inconveniencing the business” Management lies a lot to save themselves and denies a lot of their wrong doings. Avoids accountability and responsibility No opportunity for growth because of management Don’t expect to receive your bonus even if you worked hard for it being in the top sellers company wide! I feel like the whole diversity and inclusion thing is extremely performative and just a front Management would always tell me “I can leave” and that they weren’t “going anywhere” this was often, pretty much pushing me to the point of leaving because I heard it so much Always ridiculed for how I did something by management and coworkers always insisting this is how I should do something Always asked management for transparency and clear communication and never got it. Would always wait for issues to boil over. And would often communicate with me through my coworkers instead of communicating with me directly; for example instead of management texting me on my last day to leave my key behind she called my coworker, had a whole phone conversation with her and told her to tell me to remember to leave my key behind which I had already done before being told this Overall I have more I can say, I could truly write a whole novel about my experience here and all the negative things I went through, but management is ultimately what lead me to leave this job that I was hoping to stay and grow at. But I realize my mental was more important than this and had to do what’s best for me and leave all the nonsense behind
