I worked at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts full-time

    Pros

-The hiring practices for colleagues is amazing. -The properties are beautiful -Departmental manager's are amazing

    Cons

-Executive management is awful, they treat their staff horrible. Specifically yelling and degrading their employees right in front of guests. This same executive team talks on their cell phones in the lobby without even acknowledging guests.

    Advice to Management

-Treat your employees with respect. The best way to get the reaction you want is by showing the way.

Recommends Positive Outlook Approves of CEO I worked at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts full-time (More than 3 years) Pros Amazing chain to work for: they look after their staff so well! Long hours and a lot is expected from you, but you get rewarded with so much more than a pay check every month. Great employee discounts, great staff food for free,

    Cons

Only two hotels in the UK which limits UK opportunities, but if you're able to travel then Fairmont makes the world your oyster!

    Advice to Management

A big thank you for making it so rewarding to work for Fairmont. Everyone has good days and bad days, but this chain makes hospitality a rewarding job!

I have been working at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts

    Pros

Working for an International chain that has recently been taken over by Accor group so good opportunities within the company

    Cons

Constantly under staffed, low wages across the board unless you are management. Expected to do long shifts sometimes from a late to early with not enough quality rest time in between. Over time not paid hours have to be taken in leu.

    Advice to Management

Pay a decent hourly rate and take care of good staff to stop the constant staff turn over.
